Just a few of Lyndsay and Paul’s engagement pictures shot on a fabulously crisp day a few days before christmas. The location is The Boathouse at Castle Howard near York overlooking the lake. It was lovely getting to know Lyndsay and Paul a little better as I am shooting their wedding at Castle Howard in May. Hot chocolate and a mince pie warmed us up after the shoot. Yum!

Fabulous autumn colour on York Knavesmire with Aleesha and Graham who came over to York for their shoot. A friendly greyhound pottered over to see us!
I loved shooting engagement pictures for Julie and Yu Hin with the lovely autumn colour of the York woodland. Julie’s favourite colour is purple – perfect!

Venue: Allerton Castle near Harrogate
Flowers: Fiona Hogg

Congratulations to Ian and Peter whose fabulous winter wedding I shot on Saturday. The venue was Allerton Castle between York and Harrogate. Fiona Hogg the florist created the most beautiful floral sculptures using white orchid and hydrangea. Stunning.
We had a crisp, sunny day with lots of tears and laughter. It was cold outside but cosy and warm inside the hall with the fire burning and pillar candles and lanterns lit.
More pictures to come on Wednesday on the couples password protected gallery.

Valerie and John had a fabulous candle lit wedding on Bonfire Night at The Cedar Court Grand Hotel in York. I loved the romantic ceremony after dark, with candles and storm lanterns everywhere. We shot a few pictures outside the hotel on York’s bar walls with The Minster in the background. The Cedar Court looked beautiful dressed with wintery floral arrangements by Ward’s of York. I loved the hall with its tall ceiling and arched alcoves.

A wedding photo shoot at York Maze with Nikki from I Do Designer Weddings and Christine from Horticouture – we dreamed up the idea of this shoot and then you two made it into the most beautiful reality. We knew we wanted it a little bit country, we knew wanted it a little bit rock and roll and I love it!! I loved Nikki’s styling – the mini chalkboards, the ‘lost in love’ bunting, the lemon drinks, the country table – everything!! When I saw Christine’s flowers I think I actually squealed!! I loved the garlands around the chairs and the ‘fleurs’ buckets. Huge thanks to all who contributed. The fabulous team at Andrea Bambridge from Goodramgate in York actually designed and made this Grace Kelly inspired gown just for our shoot. Beckie Stirk, created the most wonderful look with her stunning make up. I am going to be wearing red lipstick for the whole of autumn now!! Gavin from The Vinery Hair Salon – a true professional. Sarah at Choose Cake brought along her fab cake pops. They taste as good as they look : ) York Maze is just the most amazing venue to have for your wedding. Thank you for having us. Isabelle and Gibbo our models, thanks for being so great – even with me working so fast against the falling light. You Rock!!!

I loved the jewel colours of Ann & Stan’s wedding, the acid green, hot pink and oranges and the soft yellow. Take a Leaf, the florists, created a stunning eclectic blend of blooms in different shaped vases. There were so many beautiful touches to the wedding. I loved the morrocan lanterns, the non matching orchid buttonholes, the fairy lights, but most of all Ann’s amazing, fabulously gorgeous Alexander McQueen shoes in electric blue. The famous Hamish McSmith, the highland cow made a special appearance dressed in a black bow tie for the day.
