Annemarie King : York Wedding Photographer bio picture
  • Hi there. I'm Annemarie and I specialise in shooting country weddings: from rustic barns, PapaKata teepee's, and elegant Yorkshire country house hotels, to stunning weddings on the lawn at home.I'm a country girl from York who's influenced by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and the ever changing colours of the seasons.
My images are light, bright and natural; they show all the important things at a wedding - the special moments with family and friends, the setting and scenery of the day ... right down to the smallest details you've spent so much time crafting.

I have been Yorkshire Wedding Photographer of the Year four times and was awarded Yorkshire Environmental Portrait Photographer of the Year last year.

I started out shooting on film many years ago and still bring that soft dreamy quality to the images I shoot today.

I don’t often blog in black and white but I do love it. I often include black and white entire spreads in my clients wedding albums, especially  if I have shot a candid moment such as these ones. This first picture is a bit of a stolen moment taken during Michelle and Iain’s wedding reception and one of my fave wedding pictures ever.sandburn-hall-wedding

Have you ever thought about asking your dog to be a guest at your wedding?

Whether you dream of your dog walking down the aisle in the cutest of bow ties befitting for the occasion or couldn’t imagine your couple portraits without your furry companion nestled in between you as a party of three, as The Phodographer, I’m the girl to capture this special connection on your wedding day.

More and more couples are now choosing to include their pooches in their special day, some having a starring role as members of their wedding party or being included in the family pictures and I have to say – I love it!

The Black Swan Hotel at Helmsley in beautiful rural North Yorkshire is super dog friendly and makes a point of making sure ALL their guests receive a warm Yorkshire welcome. This shoot was a collaboration with some wonderful Yorkshire wedding suppliers and hopefully gives a glimpse into what a lovely venue the hotel can be for your wedding.

I do like to photograph in the gorgeous woodland, even more so when it’s with such a lovely, fun couple.  Couple shoots are such a great way to get to know your photographer before being photographed on your wedding day. As a photographer it’s good to learn how you interact as a couple – are you romantic, fun, cuddly, jokey – or all of the above!!

I had a great time with these two – we even spotted a treecreeper! Bonus!
